Kahala Sunset

Mommy's college friends decided to have the group vacation that they've been talking about for years, and they selected Austin as the natural meeting place. The house they got was even a special choice because it's a house that Mommy had looked at ten yeras ago when she was looking for wedding locations. Even with the water at an all-time low, we were still able to enjoy the vacation rental.

The kids all had a blast together, whether it was playing in the yard, watching movies, swimming outside, or hanging out with our iPads. The big kids even all fell asleep in the bunk room together, though not everyone stayed there the entire night.

One morning we headed to Krause Springs nearby which was pretty but super cold. We played in the sun until it was time to get some yummy BBQ at Opies, just down the road from both the springs and our house. There, Xiao-Jiu and Crystal A-Yi met us which made an awesome weekend just that much better!

We escaped to the (slightly) warmer water in our pool and relaxed at the house for the rest of the afternoon.

That evening, we grilled out, made cookies, and played until we pretty much passed out one-by-one.

Sadly, in the morning, it was time to go. After a quick scramble to follow all the check-out rules and procedures, there was time for a a quick family photo before heading away from Spicewood and back to real life (well, with a quick visit to see James and Tessa first, of course).

What a fun weekend filled with good food, great friends, and bunch of new favorite memories! Check out all our adventures in our special Kahala Sunset album!
