More Fun in Houston

Mommy took Claire and I down to Houston again for an extra-long weekend. She was a little bummed to find out that our flight was delayed down there, but my sister and I did a good job keeping ourselves entertained in an empty waiting area.

I'll just hang out here, no problem

A little snack sounds like a great idea!

Hmmm ... did somebody say Shamu?

After doing a fantastic job dozing the entire flight, I woke to find us in Houston with a very excited Po-Po and Gong-Gong there to meet us. We headed down to their place so that we could enjoy the good food and fun pool.

Hey, Gong-Gong!

Splash! Splash!

A little wet

The next morning, we played around in the backyard some (no pool this morning, though) before going up to North Houston to see Nai-Nai and Ye-Ye. I'm going through a phase where I don't want to sit in my carseat long sometimes, and I like to cry to let you know. Well, the crying sort of traumatizes Po-Po, and she would make Gong-Gong stop whenever I cried. Yes, she understood from Mommy that I would eventually stop and that every time we stopped to take me out it would just re-set the clock ... but that's the head and the heart saying two contradictory things! A typical 45-minute drive took about an hour and a half, but at least Gong-Gong got an iced coffee and Claire got a smoothie out of it! At Nai-Nai and Ye-Ye's, I managed to eat lots of good food and take lots of long naps.

Dude, hook a brother up!

Passed out

I'm not sure I remember you, but I like you since you feed me

The next morning, we headed to Chinatown to meet back up with Po-Po and Gong-Gong for lunch while Mommy snuck away to spend some time with her friends. Po-Po was not willing to risk another crying-in-the-car episode, so they hung out at the supermarket until I finally fell asleep in the cart.

I wonder how I'm going to snag those glasses off his face

Soup!

Forgot if it was me or Po-Po they were trying to put to sleep!

On Sunday, Mommy and Claire were gone all day, so I got spoiled by all the rest of the family. The day ended with Po-Po happily putting me to sleep. Now that they've figured out my habits, it was easy-peasy!

Don't be jealous, Jie-Jie. Crystal A-Yi gets to play with me every so often, too!

We got to go swimming again the next morning before going to storytime. Normally Mommy has to deal with both of us at once at storytime, so it was a special treat for all of us to have the extra sets of hands. Then we went to lunch before our playdate in the afternoon with some of Mommy's friends from high school.

Lemme in!

I love this!

What are we screaming at now?

I'm so cute, you could eat me up!

Checking out baby Lexi

Just like that, it was time to go home. Mommy found out while we were waiting in line to register me that our flight was canceled, but Gong-Gong offered to come to the gate with us, so we had extra play time.

Wow, we're walking fast!

Sitting on the airport floor ... again.

One last picture before we go

It was a wonderful trip, and I'm becoming quite the pro at the flying thing. I definitely encourage you to check out our special Houston album if you'd like to see more pics from our trip!

Party Crasher

Now that I'm sitting up and eating more solids, I can do a lot more at the parties and fun places I'm taken to on the weekends.

At Chuck E. Cheese, I got to ride my first coin ride. Yee-haw, Barney! Mostly, though, I'm just happy hanging out in your lap.

Yee-haw!

See? Even bettr than a ride.

The McDonald's we went to for Chloe's birthday was great for Claire, and I enjoyed myself, too!

Hmm ... a little drafty here.

Tangy!

Gimme my puffs, and I'm good.

I want THAT Cheerio ... that one ... right there

The baseball game that we went to with Daddy's company was pretty fun. I got to lick the outside of lots of cold cups and try to eat grass. Life is good.

HOT out here!

More grass please

More ice?

Don't forget to check out our other July pics!

Nummy, nummy

I LOOOOOVE my food. Since I still don't have any teeth, I'm mostly still eating baby food, puffs, cheerios, biter bisquits, and anything Claire can sneak my way.

I must warn the faint of heart ... or the clean of house. These next few pictures may shock and terrify you.

Contemplating the yogurt melt. Yum.

Rockin' the sweet potato. Yum.

The bisquit that turns into baby cement. Yum.

Yo! Hook a brother up!

Yogurt. Messy and cold! Yum.

Wanna trade?

Now this, THIS I can do.

BITER bisquit? Oh, okay! Yum.

Insert here ... and smear all over. Yum.

C'mon, gimme a kiss. You know you want to!

I know there's a rule (at least with the adults in the family) that it's rude to take pictures of people while they're eating. That rule is actually the opposite with babies ... and you can see more of these kinds of pics in our full July album!

Austin Surprise

After leaving Evan's birthday party -- where I had a fun time playing with cute Zoe -- Mommy and Daddy decided to head down to Austin for the long weekend. All we had with us were the clothes on our backs and whatever Mommy had packed in the diaper bag for the day.

You want to do what? Go where?

Luckily, she had just refilled it, so Claire and I each had two diapers apiece, and I had a jar of food. And that's about it. Mommy kept me company on the way down by squishing into the middle seat between the two car seats and feeding me my food and leaning over me to force me to nap. Zzzzzzz .... While we snoozed, Mommy and Daddy made phone calls and found out that all our family was there, so we were going to see lots of people over the long weekend.

My soon-to-be-here cousin is in there!

Next thing I knew, we were in Austin where we played at Cousin James' house. We went shopping for all the stuff I needed -- diapers, cereal, formula (just in case!), baby food, the list goes on -- and then grabbed some grub and went grocery shopping.

After a great night's sleep -- I sleep anywhere well as long as Mommy is there -- we played in the morning in our PJ's.

We met up Xiao-Jiu and Crystal A-Yi for lunch and then the rest of the afternoon -- naps, snowcones, and more naps.

Hula, huh?

Head butt to say hello

Water does a body good

The next day, it was time to head home, but we wanted to get more fun in first. First, naps! Then we went to the park where I got to ride on the swings for the first time. Wheeeee!!

Naptime with Xiao-Jiu

Yee-haw!

HOOOOOOT

Water envy ... c'mon, share!

On the drive back, we drove straight through because I slept the ENTIRE time ... well, until the very end. It was the traffic in Austin's fault, but I still got a good grade. Most of all, we had a great time!

May Wrap-Up, Finally!

My, oh, my ... May was a busy one. First of all, there was just me -- learning and progressing and growing -- plus everything that we did. I'm now in Size 2 diapers (Mommy couldn't deny it any longer), and I'm grabbing everything in sight. Sometimes said items actually make it into my mouth ... sometimes I just want to hold it just because I can.

Here are some details:

May Was...Festivals, Parties, and Playdates
May Was...Solids and Sitting Up
May Was...Grandparents
May Was...Family Vacation! Austin, TX

Don't forget to check out the May album with lots more pics, and keep coming back to my blog as Mommy tries to catch us up to real time!

Howdy, Stranger! (April)

I know what you're thinking ... the second kid always gets the short end of the stick. It's been three months since my blog has been updated! But the neglect was shared all around; it's been that long since my big sister Claire's blog was updated, too. What happened? Well, Mommy went back to work full-time, so, although we've been busy, she just hasn't had time to post. Here is my catch-up posting that will give you some of the highlights, and we promise to be better going forward now that Mommy's going to go part-time. More time to spend with us, and more time to spend updating all of you!

Since the beginnng of the month, I was easily rolling from back to belly. Well, okay, maybe side-to-side ... mostly because of feeding. Everyone who meets me says how strong I am!

I'm in Size 2 diapers now and actively starting to grab things, so keep those hot things away!

I'm still sleeping pretty well. As soon as the lights go out, so do I. Of course, I still need to eat -- especially since I'm still not a fan of the bottle -- but after my feeding, I'm back out. Mommy doesn't know what to do with such an easy baby! Oh, that's right, take care of Claire.

Here are highlights from April:

April Was...Growing, Rolling, and Exercising
April Was...Easter
April Was...Parties, Festivals, and Zzzz
April Was...Grandparents
4-Month Well-Baby

If you'd like to see all my April pics, you can find them all in my April album online.

Keep coming back to see about May and June!
