Meeting Baby Roux

After many months of waiting, Auntie Nina (Mommy's pledge sister) had SophieRoux in July, and we finally got to meet her when they came to visit in August. Claire was very impressed by the baby who's carrier was nestled next to her in the car and still asks when she's going to come back to ride with her in the car again. Since everyone was eager to meet Roux, we headed over to Jacob and Joshua's house so she could be shown off to as many kiddos as possible.

We might all be different sizes and development milestones right now, but we already know we're all going to be lifelong friends.

Left to right, that would be 2 yr, 3 yr, 4 yr, 1 yr

Date Crasher and Uncle Fun

In the midst of all Mommy and Daddy's "10 Dates in 10 Days", Claire and I got to join in on the fun as well. Even though we were in school during the day, we did get to go out for Hawaiian food as a family on their actual anniversary.

Aloha, y'all!

Xiao-Jiu also came in town that week, so he and Da-Jiu were at our house to have some fun.

The last part of their 10 dates that we crashed was they took us to the Four Seasons hotel here in Dallas. Claire's been asking to visit the beach ever since we came back from San Antonio last year, so she was quite excited about the pool. I enjoyed the patio in our room, myself. After going with our "new friend" to the kids play place the first night so that Mommy and Daddy could have one last romantic dinner, we spent the rest of the weekend enjoying the hotel. Being in the same city, we even fit in our "normal" stuff like swim class, doing some painting, and attending Papi's birthday party.

All in all, a super fun weekend staying at the hotel. Of course, now Claire's asking to go to THAT hotel all the time, but she says she's saving her money to make it happen. Check out all the events that took part during Mommy and Daddy's "10 Dates in 10 Days".

The Circus and Wild About Da-Jiu

The day after Wade and Alex came and left, Mommy and Daddy took us to see the Greatest Show on Earth! At the circus, we got to see an elephant paint up close and lots of clowns and acrobats. Daddy was really happy at how much I enjoyed the show -- dancing and singing in the aisles. Claire had a lot of fun with her friends that came with us, and of course the souvenirs and snow cones were a huge hit. Even months later, when Claire sees the AA on the building, she has to point out that is where we saw the circus!

We went back into "the city" again the next day (that's three days in a row!) to receive a package at Da-Jiu's house and really just to play at his empty place. We easily entertained ourselves by dipping our feet in the pool, watching vidoes, and running/sliding/dancing on his bare floors. Mommy also took us for a late-afternoon snack at Wild About Harry's where we got yummy hot dogs and ice cream followed by a little flip-flop fishing in the pool. Da-Jiu came home after that, and we headed to dinner with him and Daddy to cap off a fun day.

Split screens = no fighting

Whoa, that is a BIG hot dog
