Chick-fil-A has a day where they give you free food if you dress like a cow. Well, Claire has outgrown her last year's Halloween costume so guess who was assigned that duty?

Austin Trip

Our family made a quick road trip down to Austin so that we could support Xiao-Jiu's graduation from UT @ Austin. We had a good time visiting campus and runnng around the Frank Erwin center, and then were treated to a wonderful meal at Maggiano's before enjoying some yummy ice cream cake. What a fun day!

Easter at Rough Creek

We went on a road trip for Easter weekend. Daddy planned a great weekend for us in Glen Rose, TX, which is just down the street from us (sort of). The first surprise was an animal safari park where we got to sit in the front seat of the car (woo-hoo!) and feed animals (whee!).

We found plenty to do at the hotel once we got settled in including checking out the room and playing peek-a-boo with the curtains. Later that evening, my own personal babysitter came to fetch me and Claire to go play with Mommy and Daddy enjoyed some yummy food at the restaurant.

15-Month Well-Baby

Dr. Frank says I'm really hitting my growth groove ... meaning I'm starting to trend in my growth. And the trend? Small. :) But I'm definitely healthy, so no worries.

March 17th turned out to be a pretty busy day for us. After Mommy got us up and out of bed

First Haircut

Mommy decided that it was finally time to cut my hair. I'd been into the Cool Cuts a couple of times with Claire, but actually getting my own hair cut was another story. We started out okay in the red car, but we quickly transitioned into me sitting in Mommy's lap. Once I was there, it was quite enjoyable with chocolate, lollypops (multiple ones because they kept cutting hair that would stick to my sucker!), and Elmo on TV. Not too bad for a first-timer! Claire saw how much "fun" I was having, she decided to get in on the action, too.

Arboretum Trip

This year the daddies went with us to the Arboretum for our semi-annual trip. Last fallI wasn't quite getting around on two feet yet; this year, there was no stopping me! We checked out lots of flowers, ran through fields, and explored the different playhouses they had constructed.

Claire and I headed over to the Fort Worth Zoo with Kaitlyn and Logan. Once Mommy was able to figure out how to fold up the double-stroller (or at least enough to fit inside the car), we were off. We were worried it was going to be cold, but the weather turned out great!

Snow-pacolypse

The first week of February was spent snowed in at home. The entire city shut down while inches and inches of snow covered everything! Mommy pulled out lots of toys to play with, and Daddy took us into the snow. At the end of the week, Mommy was ready to see some other people, and we went to the Community Center to play with some of our friends.

If only I had a nickel for each time that ...

1-Year Well-Baby

After we got back from the holidays, Mommy was excited to take me to my one-year well baby. She sort of already knew I would measure small, but she was curious to see by how much. My stats?

Height: 29 inches - 25%
Weight: 17.6 lbs - less than 3%
Head: 17.5 inches - 10%

The doctor said that I'm definitely following a curve and there's nothing to be concerned about. I'll probably just have some growing pains as I get older from catching up. Until then, he said I'm welcome to try fish, eggs, pb, honey, shellfish (if I hadn't already). Since Claire's not doing nuts, I doubt that's going to come up anytime soon, but I am looking forward to getting my hands on everything I see on the kitchen table!

I'm not yet 20 lbs, so no turning around in the carseat for me yet. Although, I hear there's a new rule that babies should wait until they're 2 to face forward. Either way, Mommy and Daddy are just fine with me in my carrier since it makes me easy to tote around, and I don't really know the difference anyways.

Vegas, Baby, Vegas

Not sure if my parents realized that just because I turned one, it didn't make me legal for ANYTHING yet, but they decided to take me to Las Vegas for my first birthday. We left Christmas morning to meet up with the rest of Mommy's family that was already there. The airport was pretty empty, so I had plenty of room to practice my walking. The only shocker was that the McD's was closed, too, so Mommy's whole routine was thrown off!

I have to admit we were a little travel weary since Southwest doesn't fly directly to Vegas (silly Wright Amendment), but it was worth it once we landed. I was super excited to see everyone, and we did all the family stuff the first night there: presents, pictures, and passing out super early since our bodies were still on Dallas time.

Going to sleep early meant waking up early, too, so our family of four explored the Vegas that is just waking ... a very different Vegas than I think most people imagine. Our first stop was M&M World -- I thought I was in heaven! Afterwards, we met up with everyone else for some yummy food at Paris and watched the musical fountains at the Bellagio across the street.

That night we had Po-Po's yummy, yummy spaghetti. You know how much she loves Claire and I because Po-Po isn't a big fan of messy babies, but she went ahead and made us one of our favorite dishes. And we didn't let her down! After dinner, everyone sang happy birthday to Gong-Gong and I ... one turned one, the other turned sixty. Can you tell which is which?

Still on Dallas time, we were the first folks into the Secret Gardens at the Mirage the next morning. We got to see lots of animals including some dolphins up close. I kept trying to climb into the pool, but Mommy thought it wasn't a great idea. Xiao-Jiu took a turn wearing me (to warm up) which gave Mommy a nice break. Gong-Gong and Po-Po were there to meet us after the gardens, and then we all met up with Da-Jiu to eat at Mesa Grill -- Bobby Flay's Vegas restaurant. Tuckered out, we headed back to the hotel to nap, then more spaghetti!

Our outing the next day was to the Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay. I got to get up close and personal with some water animals and then listen to some weird dolphin music at the end. We took the tram from there to Excalibur where I got to put coins into machines that made lots of noises. Not sure I understood it all, but I did enjoy the coins and slots. Instead of eating in that night, the whole family went down to the Bellagio to try their buffet. We had to wait in line (luckily not as long as all those people still there when we left!), but we definitely made the most of our time while we were there! We made sure we took our all-too-rare everyone picture at the Bellagio conservatory before turning in for the night -- at a time much closer to our Dallas bedtimes.

The next day was seeing the lions at MGM Grand (Gong-Gong was nice enough to drop us off and pick us up!) before Mommy and Daddy had a long date day in downtown Vegas. I got to hang out with Po-Po and Gong-Gong at the hotel while Claire went out with Xiao-Jiu and Crystal A-Yi.

Our last big outing was to the Venetian where we got to see street performers, eat gelato, and gnosh on yummy Italian food. Then, I hung out with Daddy while the girls went out on the town (something about soaking their feet and Serendipity3?).

The week flew by, and then it was time to head home. I was spoiled by riding in the taxi (in Mommy's arms) down the Strip and thought Claire and I could just take the car home ourselves.

So that's how we wrapped up my first year! What a ride it's been ... can't wait to see what's next!

My 1st (or 2nd?) Almost-Christmas

If you're born on Christmas day, which one is your "1st" Christmas -- the day you're born or the next year? I was a little busy last Christmas (well, if you count being born "busy"), so this Christmas was a little bit more low-key. Since we were going to be traveling on Christmas Day (my birthday), Mommy and Daddy staged Christmas for us a few days in advance. Not like we would know which exact day was the 25th, right?

After we made our gingerbread house, the Christmas festivities began with gift opening under the tree. Then we all changed into our Christmas PJs (once they caught us!), made Santa brownies, and got ready for some holiday cheer.

Birthday Party Weekend

Wow! A whole weekend that was all about me! I turn the big 0-1 next week, but since we'll be out of town, Mommy decided to celebrate a week early. To commemorate the event, I took my first real steps all by myself. I was so excited to see Gong-Gong the night he arrived, I went back and forth between him and Mommy to give them hugs of happiness. Here's a little peek of my first steps the next morning proving that the milestone actually stuck.

My friends Grace and Jake came over to play one morning. Jake was still too little to do much, but Grace (who's just a couple weeks younger than me) and I had a grand time playing with my toys.

I definitely have the chihuahua disease -- I think I'm a much bigger doggie than I really am. Anytime we go to playplaces, I'm right there trying to follow my big sister!

When Daddy dresses me in the morning, he tries to find a coordinating hat and sees how long I'm willing to wear it ... at least long enough to show it off to Mommy and Claire!

This one (yes, for a newborn) makes my head look HUGE!

Oh, and the Pee-Pee? Well, Mommy was noticing that I would wake up in the morning with a dry diaper which was odd since that's 12 hours with no wetting plus the fact that I'm drinking pretty much all night. She was getting a little bit worried thinking maybe I'm dehydrated, but then she also noticed that within 30 minutes of wakng, I would have a HUGE wet diaper. Sooooo, she started putting me on the potty pretty quickly after waking and, voila!, pee-pee in the potty! Crazy, huh? She was definitely more impressed than I am, and it's not something we do everyday, plus even the littlest potty we have is a little big on me, but it's still kind of a cool trick.

Mommy took us to go to Santa. We got there during his cookie break, so we hung out in line together for awhile. Then, when we got into the globe area, we discovered something fun -- indoor snow! Claire had a great time running through it, and I discovered it's much like sand ... you try it once, and that's pretty much enough. Could it be? Yup, that's me in the pool! I took a little trial waterbaby class to see whether I'm ready to take swimming lessons. I'm a little bit younger than when Claire started, but we figure since Claire's probably going to take lessons again in the Spring, instead of me just sitting there watching her, I might as well get in, too!

First School Pictures

Took my first school pictures earlier this fall, and we just got them back this month. I was ... well, not that happy about the whole thing. It's tough trying to get me to smile right after drop-off! This was Mommy's first time trying to find coordinating outfits for Claire and I; I think she did a fine job. Maybe next year I'll actually smile!

Houston Trip

We wanted to meet Charlie's new litle brother Christopher, so Mommy took the two of us down to Houston for a quick trip the weekend before Thanksgiving.

My First Halloween

From the very beginning, I would make little squealing and mewling noises, and Mommy has always called me her "little panda", so Mommy knew pretty early on what costume she was going to get me for my very first Halloween. The hardest thing was making sure Claire didn't claim it as her own! Unfortunately I had roseola the weekend before Halloween -- the super high fever, the spots, the whole she-bang - so I missed out on a couple of events, but I did get to show off at least once at Claire's playgroup party.

Austin Trip

I am no longer the baby of the family! We went down to Austin to meet the newest Pee - Baby Tessa. The bonus was visiting Xiao-Jiu, Crystal A-Yi, and Kirby one day, and then getting to see Cousin James, Baby Tessa, George Shu-Shu, and Auntie Christina the next. The extra-bonus was that Auntie Daphne and Uncle Drew were in town, plus Ye-Ye and Nai-Nai were there, too! That's a whole lotta Pees in one place!

We stopped to eat and play on the way down, then headed to Xiao-Jiu and Crystal A-Yi's to play. Besides enjoying the dog park, we went for a walk, played some crazy monkey game at home, and bugged poor Kirby. My favorite may have been checking myself out in their full-length mirrors.

The next morning we went over to George Shu-Shu's house where all of the Pees were gathered. We got in some playtime, some yummy breakfast tacos and fruit, loving from grandparents, aunties, and uncles, and then it was time to go!

I was a little bit of trouble on the way home. Have YOU ever had to sit there for hours staring at the bench seat of a car? Not fun. But once I settled down, I took a nice long nap until we got home.

If You're Happy and You Know It ...

In the span of about two weeks, I've gone from just waving hello/bye-bye to clapping my hands (especially to "If You're Happy and You Know It" ... or if I hear you say the word "clap" in passing), saying "Hurray!" with my arms, and blowing kisses. The clapping has been so ingrained into me that one night, while I was sleeping, Claire's iPhone game had some cheering and I started clapping in my sleep! I'll also play peek-a-boo if you ask, "where's Gavin?"; you should try it sometime.

Other milstones right now? Well, you know about how I love to eat. My teachers at school have also seen how I'm tired of babyfood and have started giving me school food. On 10/5, my note for the day was "he is a slow eater but loves to feed himself". Yeah, that sounds about right. :)

I'm proving to be quite the mountain goat (I must come from the same herd as my friend Lily), so you definitely need to keep an eye on my as I try to move vertically!

Mommy is amazed at how fast I'm learning and how much more I'm playing with my big sister. We're quite the pair, the two of us.

First Arboretum Fall Festival

I got to attend the Fall Festival at the Arboretum this year for the first time. I do have to say, it was quite fun.

I was a spectator most of the time, but I did enjoy the crackers (caterpillars on sticks ... oh, I mean squeezy chees on crackers). Mommy did let me crawl around some and check out the hay. I tried to climb over the bales, but I guess I'll just have to wait until next year!

San Antonio Trip

Mommy and Daddy took me on my first "Law Family Vacation" -- San Antonio, TX. Even though San Antonio is pretty close to Dallas, they were a little wary of risking the drive (I'm not exactly the most patient passenger right now), so we took a short flight down the street.

Once in San Antonio, we quickly checked out the resort. They had a playground, a beach, and multple pools! Mommy and Daddy appreciated all the extra hands Po-Po and Gong-Gong had to offer, and I definitely enjoyed the spoiling as well.

Mommy had decided to space out the outings (back to that "patient passenger" business) and alternate doing things near/far/near/far during the week. Our first "far"-ther trip was to the San Antonio zoo. I enjoyed sitting in the stroller with my big sister and seeing all the different animals. I especially liked this zebra/giraffe thing that got real close, and the nap I got at the end on top of the stroller canopy wasn't too shabby either. :)

Many Milestones

Well, after months of wondering and waiting, the day is finally here. I sprouted my first tooth! Mommy first found it over Labor Day (just over 8 months old) and she's both excited and a little bit trepedetious since I'm still breastfeeding. She keeps threatening that one bite and I'm done ... we'll see.

I'm ready to put that tooth to good use. I'm getting tired of all that babyfood and want the good stuff! Anything that I see Mommy putting in her mouth is fair game for me to eat, or so I think.

I'll do this for you, Xiao-Jiu, but only because I love you

About mid-September, I really started crawling in addition to pulling up on everything. I'm pretty darn fast, though I have to admit the crawl is more of a propeling action.

Trying to decide where to head next

And I'm also starting to become a copycat. I first surprised Mommy and Daddy one morning when Mommy said, "say hi to Daddy, Gavin!" and I waved hello. Now I'm starting to pick up other things like if you cough, I'll cough; you say, "ah", and I'll say, "ah"; if you screech, I'll screech (I learned that from my big sis). You should give it a shot!

We went down to another show by the lake where we got to see an animal show and meet Elmo. I don't know what the big deal was with the big furry guy, but the crowd went wild!

Labor Day Family Fun

I got super-spoiled over the weekend when lots of our family came to visit. On Friday, Cousin James' parents had a rehearsal dinner to attend and Daddy had to work late at Ambition, so Mommy took us the three Pee kids outside to play. Then Da-Jiu made it home in time to enjoy "fiasco" with us -- dinner, bathtime, and bedtime.

Po-Po and Gong-Gong made it Saturday morning from Houston and Xiao-Jiu, Crystal A-Yi, and Kirby made it up from Austin. We've been staying busy with playdates, parties, and playing in the neighborhood. Now that I'm pulling up and over things, you really have to keep an eye on me, but I'm loving the new mobility!

I got to attend Reid's birthday party, and it was a blast, even for a little boy like me! Since it was at MyGym, the bigger kids played all around me as I pulled myself along all of the equipment.

I am definitely enjoying life to the fullest. I eat well, I sleep well, and I poop well (the parenting trifecta). And there's nothing wrong with being little ... it just means that Mommy will cuddle me that much longer!

I finally moved up to size 2/3 diapers, though Mommy's not quite ready to take me out of swaddlers even though I'm already starting to move across the floor and pull up on things.

Now at 8 months old, I also finally moved up to 6-9/12 month clothes. Where Claire was "to size", at least with Gymboree clothes, it's been a blessing to have lots of hand me downs from our friends because it appears as though I'm going to use the same size clothes for four different seasons!

More Fun in Houston

Mommy took Claire and I down to Houston again for an extra-long weekend. She was a little bummed to find out that our flight was delayed down there, but my sister and I did a good job keeping ourselves entertained in an empty waiting area.

After doing a fantastic job dozing the entire flight, I woke to find us in Houston with a very excited Po-Po and Gong-Gong there to meet us. We headed down to their place so that we could enjoy the good food and fun pool.

The next morning, we played around in the backyard some (no pool this morning, though) before going up to North Houston to see Nai-Nai and Ye-Ye. I'm going through a phase where I don't want to sit in my carseat long sometimes, and I like to cry to let you know. Well, the crying sort of traumatizes Po-Po, and she would make Gong-Gong stop whenever I cried. Yes, she understood from Mommy that I would eventually stop and that every time we stopped to take me out it would just re-set the clock ... but that's the head and the heart saying two contradictory things! A typical 45-minute drive took about an hour and a half, but at least Gong-Gong got an iced coffee and Claire got a smoothie out of it! At Nai-Nai and Ye-Ye's, I managed to eat lots of good food and take lots of long naps.

The next morning, we headed to Chinatown to meet back up with Po-Po and Gong-Gong for lunch while Mommy snuck away to spend some time with her friends. Po-Po was not willing to risk another crying-in-the-car episode, so they hung out at the supermarket until I finally fell asleep in the cart.

On Sunday, Mommy and Claire were gone all day, so I got spoiled by all the rest of the family. The day ended with Po-Po happily putting me to sleep. Now that they've figured out my habits, it was easy-peasy!

We got to go swimming again the next morning before going to storytime. Normally Mommy has to deal with both of us at once at storytime, so it was a special treat for all of us to have the extra sets of hands. Austin Surprise

After leaving Evan's birthday party -- where I had a fun time playing with cute Zoe -- Mommy and Daddy decided to head down to Austin for the long weekend. All we had with us were the clothes on our backs and whatever Mommy had packed in the diaper bag for the day.

You want to do what? Go where?

Luckily, she had just refilled it, so Claire and I each had two diapers apiece, and I had a jar of food. And that's about it. Mommy kept me company on the way down by squishing into the middle seat between the two car seats and feeding me my food and leaning over me to force me to nap. Zzzzzzz .... While we snoozed, Mommy and Daddy made phone calls and found out that all our family was there, so we were going to see lots of people over the long weekend.

My soon-to-be-here cousin is in there!

Next thing I knew, we were in Austin where we played at Cousin James' house. We went shopping for all the stuff I needed -- diapers, cereal, formula (just in case!), baby food, the list goes on -- and then grabbed some grub and went grocery shopping.

May Wrap-Up, Finally!

My, oh, my ... May was a busy one. First of all, there was just me -- learning and progressing and growing -- plus everything that we did. I'm now in Size 2 diapers (Mommy couldn't deny it any longer), and I'm grabbing everything in sight. Sometimes said items actually make it into my mouth ... sometimes I just want to hold it just because I can.

Howdy, Stranger! (April)

I know what you're thinking ... the second kid always gets the short end of the stick. It's been three months since my blog has been updated! But the neglect was shared all around; it's been that long since my big sister Claire's blog was updated, too. What happened? Well, Mommy went back to work full-time, so, although we've been busy, she just hasn't had time to post. Here is my catch-up posting that will give you some of the highlights, and we promise to be better going forward now that Mommy's going to go part-time. More time to spend with us, and more time to spend updating all of you!

Since the beginnng of the month, I was easily rolling from back to belly. Well, okay, maybe side-to-side ... mostly because of feeding. Everyone who meets me says how strong I am!

I'm in Size 2 diapers now and actively starting to grab things, so keep those hot things away!

I'm still sleeping pretty well. As soon as the lights go out, so do I. Of course, I still need to eat -- especially since I'm still not a fan of the bottle -- but after my feeding, I'm back out. Mommy doesn't know what to do with such an easy baby! Oh, that's right, take care of Claire.

June Was...Daycare

A big event for me was starting daycare. Originally, I was going to start after July 4th but decided to start early when Mommy thought she was going to go part-time in June. Since we had already told my grandparents, we decided not to rock the boat and just go with the date. Mommy may have shed a few small tears the day I was dropped off, but she was quickly comforted when she realized how wonderful my teachers are.

My very first day, I slept well in my crib (and in Ms. Mitchell's arms) and even took a whole bottle! The pattern didn't hold, however, so the teachers got creative -- they fed me with a cup and I'm now known to "eat" my milk with cereal instead of drinking it.

It's wonderful having such loving people take care of me. I'll be moving up soon to the older infants class, but I'll definitely miss all of the love I've been getting here in this room.

June Was...Indoor Fun

Sitting up has really given me a new perspective on things. So much to see! Too bad you still have to prop me up, but I'll be sitting up by myself soon. Until then, I'm pretty good at navigating my way around the room by turning on my belly and dragging myself with my hands.

Not So Fun ... Getting Sick
The week before I started daycare, I got a bad cold. So bad, in fact, even Nai-Nai got it and had to nurse it when she got home to Houston! I was introduced to John Bunn, our nebulizer, which I didn't love but didn't fight that much either. Originally it was Mommy giving me the treatments, but then we found that it worked pretty well when Daddy held me and Mommy danced in front of me instead.

Bathtime
Now that I'm sitting up, I get to take baths with Claire. It saves Mommy and Daddy time in the evenings (what the Davises call "fiasco time"), and is actually an incentive to get Claire into the bathtub. Mommy keeps me upright by holding me between her feet.

Eating Solids
Food is mmm, mmm, good! I love sitting in the big(ger) kids chair, using a sippy cup, and -- most recently -- miniscule pieces of grape that I can't pick up by myself. Claire likes to showoff her food sometimes, and I get a little bit of food envy, but I know my time is coming for even more!

My Toes!
So I found something interesting this month ... there are these little piggies attached to my feet! They taste pretty good, and I laugh when you tickle them.

Toys, Toys, Toys
I have toys ... lot of them. I've got exersaucers, jumperoos, floor toys, and -- of course -- my big sister. I'm pretty easy to please, and I can be left to play by myself really well, but I love being in the mix with everyone else even if I'm just watching.

I've been outside some, but Mommy tries not to keep me out for too long since I'm a head sweater ... and like to eat grass.

Backyard
The backyard is good because I can watch everything going on but relax in Mommy's arms or the rocker.

Swimming
Went swimming in a normal diaper. You would not believe how much fluid the diaper held! Mommy is very impressed by the absorbancy of the Pampers Swaddlers ... that thing swoll up to almost popping!

June Was...Father Fun

June's a big month for our family. Yes, it's my half-birthday, but more importantly, it's Daddy's birthday and Father's Day as well. As a surprise, I even started saying "BaBa" just in time for Father's Day!

Daddy's 36th Birthday
We celebated Daddy's 36th birthday with a fruit bouquet that was pretty but I couldn't eat (of course I tried).

Dress Like Your Daddy Day
The Friday before Father's Day was "Dress Like Your Daddy" day at school. Mommy put me in a polo shirt and khakki pants which is more something Daddy would have worn a few years ago more than now, but it did make me look like a little man.

My First Father's Day
For my first Father's Day, we got Daddy lots of stuff to cook with ... in preparation for me to eat all my solids, I'm sure. Claire and I even created an apron for Daddy together! I also gave Daddy a little work of art that my teacher created with me at school. What a wonderful keepsake!

Six-Month Well-Baby

I had my six-month well-baby visit, and the summary is that I'm healthy but small. Dr. Frank was impressed by my scooching and sitting and warned Mommy that I may walk at an earlier age since I don't have as much weight to lug around.

My stats:

- Height: 25.5 inches (25%)
- Weight: 14.8 pounds (10%)
- Head: 16.25 (5%)

I get to start strained meats and finger goods which is very exciting because I'm more than ready to get it started. I'm constantly trying to reach for foods and will put it in my mouth if you let me.

May Was...Family Vacation! Austin, TX

I had my first road trip this month; we went down to Austin to attend Crystal A-Yi's college graduation. I did ... okay ... in the car. It was good until we were about 30 minutes away, and then I was just done. Luckily, Daddy forgot to pack everything he needed for the weekend, so we stopped at the outlet mall to stretch our legs and spend some money.

As far as I can tell, you do all the same things on vacation that you do at home. I ate my food (in my carseat since I didn't have a highchair and my upright sitting is a bit "eh"), laid around, and rolled back to belly/belly to back. We did get a nice surprise visit from Xiao-Jiu, Crystal A-Yi, and Kirby. Although I don't really remember them, they're some of my big sisters people, so I love them, too!

The day of the graduation, we went to breakfast and then got dressed up to attend the ceremonies. I got to sit in the stroller but it was short-lived, and then I was back in the Ergo again.

After naptime, we got dressed in our finest for a fancy dinner out to celebrate Crystal A-Yi's graduation. Po-Po was tickled by my outfit and super pleased by all the kisses I gave. I pretty much spent the entire dinner at the adult side of the table being cooed at, and with Claire being taken care of by Crystal, it was like a date dinner for Mommy and Daddy! Some quick pictures after dinner, then it was bedtime for everyone.

The next day, we played in the hotel -- I got stickered by Claire ... again -- before going to visit George Shu-Shu, Aunt Christina, and cousin James.

May Was...Grandparents

All of my grandparents came back again this month to watch me during the day. It also ended up being the last month that they were here full-time because I started school right after this.

Po-Po and Gong-Gong
Po-Po valiantly tried to get me to drink from a bottle ... and then gave up and went for the cup instead. Po-Po also discovered a trick that made the trip extra-enjoyable:

"Gavin likes to put his face down and buries his head under one of your arms, between him and you, you can make a sound like ‘Hmmm’, ‘Hmmm’, ‘Ohhhh’, ‘Ohhhh’, just a simple sound in a fix time interval, he will then echo back with “Hmmmm’ to you. After several minutes of ‘Hmmm’, ‘Ohhh’ back and forth, he will quietly fall asleep. It appears that he really likes this position with this conversation before he falls asleep. After I showed to your dad once and he could make the same trick also. We both laughed many times whenever one of us put Gavin to sleep in this way."

Nai-Nai and Ye-Ye
Both Nai-Nai and Ye-Ye love indulging me, so I'm getting lots of playing and stroller time. Nai-Nai discovered how much I like to stand up, so she's letting me prop up against the playing tables to play music and pump my legs.

May Was...Solids and Sitting Up

More milestones met! Mommy can't believe how quickly I'm growing and doing more things. She's definitely not ready (though I think she exaggerates when she tells people that she knocks me down when I try to sit up ... she's just exaggerating, right?)

Solids
I'm doing solid foods now, which I love. Sometimes I forget and stick my thumb in, too, but I'm happy to pull it back out if you keep the food coming!

Sitting Up
Okay, so "sitting" is probably stretching it a little, but I'm definitely tee-peeing. I like being upright much more than just laying around, so as long as you remember to prop pillows around me, I should be fine. Mommy has found that whatever side you don't put pillows will be the only direction I want to fall. I'm at least upright enough that I can combine the sitting with another favorite activity (that would be the solid foods) and sit at the table like a big kid now.

Misc
I'm still sleeping well. I fall asleep at 8:30pm sharp. Sometimes I fall asleep earlier than that, but then I wake up at 8:30pm just so that I can fall asleep again. Yes, I'm still sleeping with Mommy, but mostly it's for her self-preservation since I feed at night. Sometimes, if it's "one of those days", I also

I love my jumperoo. You should see when I get that thing going! In fact, I'll work on getting a video posted, though it might make you dizzy from all that motion!

May Was...Festivals, Parties, and Playdates

I've been getting out a lot to do fun things. Sure, I end up sleeping through a lot of it, but I'm also watching, observing, and storing it all up to participate in it soon!

Neighborhood Festival
Our neighborhood had a festival that we attended. They didn't have too much stuff for babies my age, but I enjoyed taking a nap in my Ergo.

Primrose Spring Fling
I went with Claire to the Spring Fling at her school -- my school starting soon.

Playdate with Chloe
Chloe's family came over to play one evening, and we all headed to the part where Mommy took me into the tunnels after Claire. Getting IN was okay ... getting OUT was a little bit trickier.

Random Stickering
Mommy was sitting in her room one night reading while I slept when she saw Claire sneak into the room and climb on the bed. She couldn't figure out what Claire was doing, so she snuck up to the bed and snapped a picture. Here's what she found:

Birthday Parties
Claire's friend Luke (who's about to have a baby my age!) turned 2, so we went to his birthday party at the part to celebrate. Kaylie turned 3, and we partied down at the jump place (well, maybe me, not so much).

Playdate at Lily's
One evening we went over to Lily's house to play and get munchies. Lily and I chilled on the couch and floor together while the crazies ran around us in circles. Check out the rare picture of multiple kids actuall sitting on the couch quietly at the same time!

Fun in the Sun
We also went over to Jacob house to swim. Mommy and I didn't get in the pool too much, so I stayed cool by drinking (from actual bottles and cups, of course ... no nipples for me!).

4-Month Well-Baby

I had my 4-Month Well-Baby today, and apparently I'm not a huge baby. Here are my stats:

Height: 24.75 inches (50%)
Weight: 13.7 lbs (25%)
Head: 15.5 inches (5%)

The PEE-nut head reigns supreme! I'm a little bit smaller than my big sister Claire at her 4-month, but I'm healthy!

Dr. Frank said it's okay that I'm still not taking the bottle or eating much during the day as long as I continue to grow and I'm eating well at night. And I am!

April Was...Grandparents

In order to postpone going to daycare, Mommy and Daddy's parents have offerd to help watch me until I'm 6 months old. It was also a wonderful time to bond with my grandparents that I don't get to see as often as I would like. They quickly adjusted to my not taking bottles (Po-Po decided to feed me from a cup instead) as well as got to know my personality well. Thank you so much for taking suc wonderful care of me!

Po-Po and Gong-Gong
Po-Po and Gong-Gong took us on a couple of outings plus lots of snuggle time.

Nai-Nai and Ye-Ye
Nai-Nai and Ye-Ye stayed longer (3 weeks instead of just 1), so they became a close part of our everyday activities.

April Was...Parties, Festivals, and Zzzzz

Our family has been busy doing lots of fun things together. Every weekend there's something new!

Emily's Birthday
Emily had a birthday party, so we went to wish her well. The party -- Princess and the Frog-themed -- was a huge hit. My big sister even made a magic potion bottle that I got to hold.

Grant's Birthday
Claire's friend Grant turned 2, so we went to his fun birthday party. Even though Claire may be Grant's friend, in just a few months, you'll probably start seeing pictures of me playing with Reed, Grant's little brother.

Zzzzz ....
I'm sill sleeping with Mommy at night, and Claire gets in on the action sometimes. Imagine 4 in a bed; we're one big happy family!

April Was...Easter

I got to attend my first Easter activities. We went with Jacob to his school's egg hunt as well as had some friends over to our place. This year was mostly just hanging out and going along for the ride. Next year? Watch out!

April Was...Growing, Rolling, and Exercising

I'm definitely a happy baby as well as patient, easy-going, and smiley. I still squeal like a panda and jibber-jabber quite a bit. I was introduced to the Exersaucer, the jumper, and the big kid umbrella stroller this month, all of which I love. Everyone's really surprised how much time I can spend on my tummy or just playing. Although, one downside is my newfound interest in these activities means there's also a renewed sense of interest on my big sisters part, so sometimes we end up wanting to play with the same things. Here are some shots of me in action.

Tummy Time
Since I've always had pretty good neck control, I actually really enjoy tummy time. The better to see you with, my dears!

Exersaucer
The exersaucer was taken out so that I could be placed somewhere safely. I immediately found the same star springs that Claire did when she got it, but I quickly moved on to putting things into my mouth. The only downside is the electronic items (the rainbow and the music player) don't seem to work anymore, but what I don't know I can't miss, right?

Headscratching
I recently found the top of my head ... and then scratched it. I wasn't in any pain, but Mommy wasn't too happy about it.

Big-Kid Stroller
Our family has a lot of strollers -- big ones, little ones, heavy ones, expensive ones, free ones, light ones, single riders, double seats -- and one of our favorite happens to be the free one from BRUs. Go fig. Luckily, we own both a pink and blue one, so there shouldn't be too much fighting in the future because there's enough for all of us!

Grabbing
If I see something I want, don't be surprised to see my hand shoot out to reach for it. I haven't perfected actually grabbing it the first time, but I'm getting there.

Smiling
What can I say? I'm a smiley kid. I'm also ticklish and will giggle if you tickle my tummy which Mommy likes to do with her nose when she's changing me. Hehe!

My 1st Arboretum Trip and 3-Months Old

I went to the Arboretum for the first time (outside of Mommy's tummy, that is). The weather was beautiful, and I behaved myself pretty well so that Mommy could concentrate on chasing my crazy big sister around. She did have to leave me in the stroller a time or two to skeddadle after Jie-Jie; what in the world is she going to do when we're BOTH mobile?! :)

We helped Mommy celebrate with a fun day at home. Claire and I spent some time in the backyard, and then the Lily and her family came over for pizza and cake.

CEO ... that's me

I'm also 12 weeks old now. Mommy's getting ready to go back to work because her FMLA time is up, and she's not keen to see her baby (that's me!) grow up too quickly. I've officially moved out of my 0-3 month clothes and am sporting the 3-6 month duds that Mommy washed this weekend. Mommy finally figured out why so many of Claire's littest clothes were so clean ... because she never wore most of them! I'm still in size 1 diapers for now, but we'll see how long that lasts.

I still haven't really taken to the bottle yet, so the next few days with Ye-Ye and Nai-Nai should be interesting as they figure out what's going to work for me. I apologize in advance and promise that you that it's not you, it's me.

I'll try not to be TOO much trouble

I'm drooling a TON right now which leads everyone to believe that I'm going to be an early teether like my sister, and I'm definitely a big jibber-jabber-er. I can spend many a minute just conversing with you back and forth.

Whoa, you scared me!

So on to the next three months of my grandparents coming up to help watch me until I'm six months and start day care. The next grand adventure begins!
